The Faculty of Arts at the University
of Wollongong (Australia) is hosting
an international conference on

"Minorities and Cultural Assertions.
Literary and Social Diasporas"

Wollongong, 8-10 October 2004

The conference proposes to focus on the literary aspects
of the Italian diaspora with keynote addresses by
Professor Pasquino Crupi (Universita' per Stranieri
"Dante Alighieri", Reggio Calabria, Italy) and Professor
Joseph Pivato (Athabasca University, Alberta, Canada).
However papers on any aspect or context related to the
conference theme will be very welcome in all Humanities
disciplines including but not necessarily restricted to:
American Studies, Australian Studies, Communication and
Cultural Studies, Ethnis Studies, European Studies,
History and Politics, Literature, Sociology,
cross-disciplinary areas.

Proposal for papers should be submitted by no later
than 20 July 2004 in the following format:

It is the intention of the Conferenceorganisers to
select papers for inclusion in refereed conference
proceedings for submission for publication.

be available in approximately two weeks.
